The Art of Love is the most famous work of Erich Fromm, a German-American psychologist and philosopher and an important member of the Frankfurt School. Since its publication in 1956, it has been translated into 32 languages and sold well all over the world. It is known as the most famous work of contemporary art theory of love。

In this book, Fromm argues that love is not an emotion that has nothing to do with a person's maturity, but only needs to be invested in body and mind。If one does not strive to develop the whole of one's personality and thus achieve a creative tendency, then every attempt at love will fail, and if one is not capable of loving others, if one is not truly humble, courageous, sincere and disciplined in loving others, one will never be satisfied in one's love life。

Erich Fromm was a German-American psychologist, psychoanalyst, and philosopher。Born in 1900 to a Jewish family in Frankfurt, Germany, he received his doctorate in philosophy from the University of Heidelberg in 1922 and was an important member of the "Frankfurt School" in the 1920s。After the Nazis came to power, he went to the United States in 1934, and while working as a psychological consultant, he lectured at academic institutions such as Columbia University, and successively taught at universities such as the National University of Mexico and Michigan State University。Fromm died in 1980 in Locarno, Switzerland。

Fromm's research is rooted in Freudian psychoanalysis and Marxist philosophy。He believes that people are the product of where they are, and in modern industrial society, people are becoming more and more self-alienated, and this sense of isolation leads to a subconscious desire to connect with others。
